Shobu Ippon Shotokan Open 2007

This years event was the largest so far with 1004 competitors across all events. Again the Shotokan Karate displayed by all competitors was of a high Standard. There were some superb techniques shown by both Junior and Senior competitors and the overall attitude of all competitors was excellent.

A big thanks go to all the officials who assisted on the day who helped make the event run smoothly and on time.

With ove 30 different Organisations competing this year the event has proved to be one of the major events in the country and next year we will send invites out to more European countries.

It is fair to say that as organisers of this event we were caught on the hop with the number of competitors but have already begun to make changes to next years event to ensure it runs more smoothly.

Below is one recording of the demo performed by Senseis Simon Staples, Darren Jumnoodoo, Stacey Crowe and Adam Cockfield (broadband required). This again was another example of how the Shotokan groups are beginning to co-operate and train together again.
