Simon Staples 5th Dan ASK |
Simon Staples currently runs Billingshurst Karate Club and is Coach to the Academy of Shotokan Karate tournament squad for both Kata and Kumite under Sensei Dave Hazard.
He began training in 1982 under Sensei J Lavender. From 1986 he began to regularly train with Sensei Dave Hazard in Brighton. By 1990 he travelled to Japan and trained at both the Hoitsugan, Sensei Nakayama's Dojo, and the JKA Honbu Dojo. This was when the JKA was still one group. He studied in Japan for just over 6 months and returned for a further 3 months in 1994.
