Simon Oliver 4th Dan JKA |
Simon currently manages and instructs at the Zanshin Dojos in Nottingham (Located at Sneinton and Bestwood). He provides regular seminar services within the UK and abroad and is an active member of the Shotokan Research Society.
He began training in martial arts (Judo) in 1968. In 1970 he diverted his studies to Karate and has since obtained a number of qualifications, including, 5th Dan (Motobu) Shorin-Ryu, Tananouchi Ryu Jujitsu, Katori Shinto Ryu) and 4th Dan JKA Shotokan.
He is also an accomplished Kubudo practitioner and instructor and teaches the use of nunchaku, bo, sai, tonfa and kama.
Tournament Honours
Started his tournament competition in the early 1970's and continued to 1988 when he had to retire due to work demands. During this time he obtained many regional open titles in both kata and kumite, as well as the following highlights.
